CHL class for Women?

My wife is intrested in taking CHL class, does anyone know of a Ladies only class.

I dont know if she does a ladies only class but llWatson, one of our own is an instructor & very good if you are in the FT Worth area.

Would it be legal to have a ladies-only CHL class? I never thought about it.

It is a public accommodation conducted under a state license (for the instructor).

I don't see why a women only class would be illegal.

Does the instructor have the right to refuse service to anyone?

With state inspections if we even took appointments the DPS would be there with a $1000 ticket and a threat to shut us down. Absolutely first come first serve no refusing anyone. I doubt it'd be the same for the CHL classes.

It ain't the same as state inspections. I've done "women only" classes. Even did one solo for a lady who did not "want to be in the same room with any of those bambi killers".

I don't really do "women only" classes, other than Basic Pistol.

Reason being... my CHL classes are as much discussion driven as instructor led. Women have a unique perspective on a lot of topics that men never even think about. If I take the women out of the classes, then it deprives the men of that viewpoint, and vice versa.

I try to encourage spouses to attend together, and offer a couple's discount for those who do. If one of the spouses already has a CHL, they can sit in the class for free with their significant other.

I do my best to make women feel comfortable and welcome in the class. I don't harass, and I don't make fun of anyone. (That is, unless they really invite it, then they are fair game.)

And, as far as "not refusing service to anyone", well let's just say that I have persuaded a couple of people over the years that they really, REALLY didn't want to stay for the duration of the class. I have a very few basic rules for my classes. You can't disrupt anyone else's learning experience, and you can't compromise the safety of yourself or anyone else. If you can't handle that, then you get to leave.

Very interesting thought Linda. I had not considered that.

I felt very "gamey" for some reason...But somehow I know there were a couple of people there that would say I deserved it...
