Starting the marathon now. I haven't seen the series since it first came out in 2001. I was 13 then. Much respect for the men and women of The Greatest Generation.

I have the series on Bluray and watch it a few times a year. It and those guys are incredible!

Most are gone now. Truly the greatest generation. We will never get that great country back. We are now a Socialist country. So sad.

I have the DVD set (bought it after it first came out on HBO..I liked it so much) and watch it pretty often.
I agree, they were the greatest generation. IMO

While many from that generation are no longer with us and there are many in subsequent generations, including our current generation of warriors, that have done great things I don't understand referring to them in the past tense. They still are heroes and that generation can still be considered the greatest generation. Has that generation been eclipsed by a more recent one as a greater generation?
