Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The first patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The second sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review board's decision.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The first is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet. The second is a Senior Citizen on Obama care.

Unfortunately, there may be truth to that. Time will tell.

I do know that this is often true with England's NHS and Canada's health care system. While Obamatax isn't as bad as a national, taxpayer funded system, it's definitely a step in that direction.

Our Canadian camper/friends say that is exectly how it is in Canada. Otherwise, they think their medical care is superb. They especially like the mother's paid one year, and father's three month paid, maternity leaves. Maybe our (USA) system/s can stand a little tweaking, eh?

The Canadians bring more spending money to our park than do our American visitors.

I was going to ask if one was Canadian or British and the other an American with private insurance. With maternity leave like that, how can the government afford to fund any military at all?

I was in Canada twice in the past month on business.
On one of the trips, one of the people I was meeting said that they love their insurance, but that they do not like their 50% + taxes.
If I was to take the 23% more of my pay, I could afford not to work for 3 months if my wife had a kid too.
And I would not have to lose that every year, only the year(s) I had newborns, or maybe 1 more year than that.

Problem with the paid leave is that eventually some has to pay for it. Just another way to redistribute wealth.
