Years ago I made a trip to Canada and "just had to go" to Peace River. It was a Bradford Angier thing. After we got there, it wasn't anything special, but we got there. My most vivid memory of the Peace River is the swarms of mosquitos that followed our every move. I still have the picture of me and my friend at the "Peace River" sign along the highway.TxD wrote:We made it to the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway with a sprained ankle but decided to return to Fairbanks and take an SUV to Deadhorse.
Not sure why that was such a goal.

Welcome home! Sounds like the trip was a success!

Tell us about your load out.....carry gear...what pack gun did you take? Is there anything you wish you would have thought of BEFORE you left?
I'm glad it was a great trip for all of you. I wish I could get the time off to ride to Yellowstone.

Glad you had a safe trip. How did you hurt your ankle?
I am leaving on the 20th going to New Mexico, then Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and then to Sturgis. Hope to get there a few days before the crowd then coming home. Got 3 weeks of vacation I have to use before August or I lose it so I figure this would be a good trip for the wife and I.

I carried my Colt Commander .45 that has been worked over by Ed Vandenberg.Target1911 wrote:Tell us about your load out.....carry gear...what pack gun did you take? Is there anything you wish you would have thought of BEFORE you left?

I left it with an acquaintanence in Great Falls, toured Canada and Alaska unarmed, then picked it up on the way back.
The rest of my gear selection was pretty much right on as I didn't feel I needed anything else or had too much with me.
Just glad that I didn't need to use the tire patch kit or air pump.
Yellowstone is a great place for a motorcycle tour except for the slow moving crowds.
