maybe it's not fair to generalize.

Of course, it's not fair, but when I talk to a couple of LEO friends of mine and they themselves say that in general police officers are not very good shooters I tend to go with their inside knowledge. They back this up saying that many officers only go to the range for their annual qualification. And then point to the hit ratio of your average homeowner defending their home or a CHL holder that has to use their gun out in public.
