Looks really nice... good job!

What's the advantage of building your own? Is it cheaper? or more customized to your needs? or just for fun? I don't know much about AR's but considering getting one (while I can).

What he said.

Very nice build MedicMan218. I like it. I've been considering putting together a 6.8 upper of my own. Problem is....I'm also considering about six other things I want too. I got it bad.

For me it wasn't cheaper, then again I don't know...maybe. I've got about 1400.00 in this gun and I'm not sure what it would cost in the retail world if you were to buy it at a store. I did pay retail for everything though. Even some of the cheapest prices online were not quite as cheap as I would have liked.
Like the upper....I had to pay 190.00 for the VLTOR MUR because I couldn't find anything else I liked in stock. Frustrating....

For me it was more about picking and choosing EXACTLY what I wanted to go into my build.

As for everyone else...thanks guys. It's been a long time sitting in my safe, in pieces, waiting on my lower to come in for the past 4 months to get things started.
