I don't know why, but when I say this I was taken back to the days of the Cold War and envisioned a Russian newspaper headline deriding America, "Americans reduce to defending themselves with sticks". Then I realized, Hey American Citizens have been reduced to defending themselves with sticks.

I didn’t realize there were two different threads on store robberies with a knife running at the same time. There is another one where a young man runs a robber off by throwing 12 packs at him
