Ordered couple of cans of Ballistol

Post by daniel2002p »

Just ordered a couple of cans of Ballistol from Amazon. My current cleaning involves a a cleaning with a Solvent and then liberal coat of gun oil. My problem is that dissolvent makes the smell very strong.

On YouTube I always watch Hickhok45 and he uses this stuff so I figured I'd give it a try.

This is the one I ordered http://www.amazon.com/Ballistol-Lube-Ae ... =Ballistol" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has anyone used it with good results?

"Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars."
1)Treat firearms as if they are loaded. 2)Point the muzzle away from non-targets.
3)Keep fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot. 4)Be sure of your target and backstop.

I use non chlorinated brake cleaner. Hopps #9 in the barrel. Spray the rest with brake cleaner and then oil it up.

Edited: to change from fluid to cleaner!

I've use it wth pretty good results. I've also used CLP. Watch some of Hickok45's vids on Glock cleaning. He also uses alcohol when doing more than a field strip cleaning. I tend to like Hickok45 and use a lot of his recommendations.
