Good way to hide a gun in locked car?

Post by pmcdn »

When you have to park you car and walk into a gun-free building (school, etc), what are some good hiding methods to use so it would be harder to be found by a petty car thief should they break in to steal contents, not the entire vehicle?

Depends on the car.

I drive a Mini Cooper and have the best hiding spot ever.

Easily accesable but no one would find it unless they parted out the car.

What kind of car?

There is a thread somewhere that deals with lockable boxes. They will stop the smash and grab robbery. Also learned from that thread to remove the clip/magazine and take it with you so at least the thug is not istantly armed with YOUR weapon. :thumbs2:

I use the in car safe from center-of-mass. I like that you can order more than one, but have them keyed the same. We've used them for several years and I recommend them.

I usually empty my trash bag on top of my mounted lock case when I have to leave my weapons in the vehicle. I once emptied a laundry bag on top of it, after all who's gonna look through dirty clothes? I'll leave what clothes to your imagination "rlol". but its always in a locked box that is out of sight under normal conditions, but with the added "camo" its even more difficult to see.

Lock box under the seat. There's not really another place in the car I drive.

Used diapers covering a gun in the floorboard will probably be great protection, ...except from rust.

I actually have done what G.A. said numerous times.
The head attorney once said "You need to clean out your car"
I asked, then what would I use to cover up my guns in the floorboard in the Burger King sacks? ... the $20,000.00 cash in the floorboard under the newspapers I'm taking to the Casino tonight?

Seriously, if I had to disarm often, I'd get a lock box or car safe.

Hang it on the pitbull's collar? :biggrinjester:

I hace the COM lockboxes plus use the same camo technique but mainly because I use passenger floorboad as trash bag instead of littering.

You could take it a step further and field strip it to scatter the pieces in different locations.

lock box cabled to the seat frame. It will stop the "smash and grab" but if the miscreant thought to bring bolt cutters, I'm toast.

Cool idea. Do you have that holster bolted down somehow?
