AR Build: BUIS and scope help!

He's used Leupold scopes before and he likes them. I'm sure he'd consider something else if I threw it our to him. As far as price, he didn't really give a limit, but I am trying to keep it under $1200 or so, not counting the mount.

SWFA has a Nightforce for $1299 right now gently used and painted on their SampleList. $1700 is usual going rate for those....

Also, look into Vortex. Having looked through them, and having owned Luepolds, I have a Vortex PST on order for my bolt gun. Their PST scopes in front focal plane are tough to come by, but second focal plane are plentiful. Customer service puts Leupold to shame....and their scopes are on par with Leupold if not better - in my humble opinion.


With a budget of $1200, personally I would throw an extra few hundred in the pot and go with Nightforce. I put my budget under a thousand shipped so they are out of my range for now.

I went with the Burris AR-332

I know some will wrinkle their nose but it has been a great optic and I havent had ANY issues with it...it has been nail tacking spot on, is relatively inexpensive and IMHO may be a little under-rated
