Star Model F

Post by 74novaman »

Thought someone here might be able to help me with an old pistol.

My dad has a pistol that my grandfather owned for over 40 years, a Star Model F in .22lr. It was shot very little and mainly stored. Bore look like its in good shape, even has the box and 2 magazines.

No interest in selling it, but it does have a slight problem...the safety is broken. You can literally spin the safety around in a circle. No clue if its able to fire or if its "stuck" on safe...we haven't shot it yet.

I would like to at least get that safety fixed if I can. Anyone know of parts diagrams for the Model F, where to find parts, or anything about them?

Can't believe I forgot to add the picture (after all, who doesn't want to see pictures of random old guns? )

There's a pretty lively group of Star enthusiasts on the gunboards Spanish pistol subforum.
One of them might be able to help you.
Unfortunately, the best source of Star parts was a guy in Spain that sold from that board, but he abruptly stopped selling a few months ago.

I like Star pistols, own 7 at least

@74novaman,
I have a nickel plated one with the same problem; if you find a fix, please let me know. Thanks.
