30.06 Posting

Post by Smokewagon »

OK, I've read too much about governmental posting and now I'm confused. Region 5 Headquarters DPS, Lubbock, Texas, has compliant signs front and back. Legal to carry or not? Not that I would push it here anyway. :confused5

That posting is WRONG

I certainly would not press the matter as I was entering the building but I strongly encourage you to contact the Major in charge of that facility.

Here in Austin, they removed all of the 30.06 signs two years ago after the law was passed making them improper...or at least unenforcable.

If you don't get satisfaction there, I would contact the Colonel in charge of DPS overall.

Then I would contact your closest member of the Legislature who is Pro 2A.

Keep us posted and if a conversation doesn't do the trick, we can all start writing emails until it is corrected. They shouldn't be doing this.

If you need contact info let us know here.

I'm surprised that the 30.06 signs are still at the Lubbock office. I've been to a number of DPS offices and haven't seen any signs elsewhere. Contact Major Larry Story in Lubbock and inquire about the signs.
