NRA-ILA asks for help

The NRA-ILA is asking Texans to report any instances of non-compliance with the employee parking lot law passed in the last legislative session.

We never had an antigun policy or I wouldn't working here but I think the NRA suing over an out of date policy manual would be as wasteful as the NAACP suing over covenants and deed restrictions that haven't been updated to remove racial restrictions. At the other end of the spectrum, any business stupid enough to admit they violated the Parking Lot Law deserves to get roasted for that, like a business stupid enough to admit they fired someone for being Black.

I got the same NRA-ILA email a few weeks ago. My immediate reaction was to fire of a copy of the outaded policy manual of the company that I work for. But then I gave it a longer, 2nd thought. As things stand now, our policy is incorrect but my job still protected if I'm discovered to have a firearm locked in my vehicle. However, as Texas is a right to work state, I can be fired for no-cause as well as cause. So I'm going to leave things as they are & make sure that I don't draw attention to myself.

As far as I know, my employee handbook doesn't mention anything about company parking lots, but I don't have it in front of me.

I don't think that the NRA-ILA is asking for this information to litigate. The TSRA I believe has also requested this same info and I suspect they (NRA and/or TSRA) are looking for veryspecific examples to use during the next session of the Texas legislature when they go to strengthen the parking lot law.
