I'm not entirely sure why everyone seems to have such a problem with this. I carry a full size Glock 17 with a 10 dollar nylon IWB holster that you can get at any Army/Navy store. All I wear are t-shirts (when not at work) and I have no problem. If you stop worrying about your gun "printing" on your shirt, you'll lead much longer lives. All that worrying will get you nowhere. Chances are, only 5% of the people walking around on the street actually would be able to "see" your gun "print". However, that's even if they're looking. And if they know, chances are they're a CHL. On top of that, who the heck cares??!!

I just see all of this worrying about printing and such to be misdirected and unneeded. I've seen countless amounts of people spending an incredible amount of money on these 90-100 dollar holsters when I have yet to see one that is any better than some simple nylon.

Who knows.....

Here is my 10 dollar rig....Except I don't use the thumb break, never have....

It is a pain to get off of my belt because of how strong the clip is, in case anyone is wondering...

Because some people freak out. I had a coworker go nuts at even the prospect of my carrying at work - that's attention you don't need. If I've learned anything here, it's that people react to guns in unexpected ways, and the best way to mitigate those problems is to not even let them know it's there.

As an aside, it's harder for some people to conceal effectively than others. What for you may be a non-issue, may be an obvious print for someone else.

.
Rising, I have one of those $10 dollar holsters and I thought it was great too until I holstered my sidearm and the holster folded up into the trigger guard and pushed on the trigger. I could of had a AD from my holster. I suggest you be very careful with that holster. I now carry in an Aikens style leather OWB holster I got from http://www.Shado.com for $35. It holds the firearm well and will not fold up into the trigger guard when you holster your weapon. How much is your and your family's safety worth?? For me even $200 would be worth it.

Did your holster have a rigid metal rim around the top so that things like that won't happen?

No that's why it's retired.

Thinking about a Kel Tec PF9...

Post by jbenat »

I've come to the conclusion that there is no way to carry, concealed, in Texas, in the warmer months, comfortably. It's fairly easy to carry any size pistol, IWB, in the cooler month's.
I carry my S & W, MP, 9mm compact in a Desantis Invisible Agent, IWB or in a Kangaroo holster in the warmer months when possible. I am consideribng buying a Kel Tec PF9 as a pocket BUG when wearing shorts and T shirt. I'm kinda watching the Kel Tec forum for reliability issues on the newly released PF9.

Well, I don't blame you then.
