Legislative Agenda 2013
I found the 2011 CHL legislative work to be most interesting and rewarding for those of us that carry....I certainly hope, wish, look forward to involvement in the next session. What are the next set of issues most achievable and ones we need to support? Respectfully Ben

Top Priority IMHO
Move the one sentence pertaining to CHLs from
Sec. 46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY.
(b)(6)
to
Sec. 46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY.
(a)(10)
and that will *fix* a lot regarding what and where we can carry...
So simple my old WordStar or Electric Pencil Word Processors could do it
=================================
and after that ... I"ll be happy, but if'n you just wanna ...
=================================
clarify/penalize agencies/local govts for trying to circumvent preemption
just because.
=================================
and some future day, perhaps people will come to the side of logical thought and reasoning and just repeal 99% of
Sec. 46.05
because it does nothing to benefit humankind other than prevent criminals from throwing tire deflation devices on the street because a "no tire deflation device allowed" law exists, which works as well as a no guns sign at a bank or theater for criminals who by their nature respect all the laws.
(2) a machine gun; --- often used in crimes?
(3) a short-barrel firearm;--- often used in crimes because that half inch makes it more lethal?
(4) a firearm silencer; --- often used in crimes because it wakes up the dead victim less often??
(5) a switchblade knife;--- often used in crimes?
(6) knuckles;--- often used in crimes?
(7) armor-piercing ammunition;
(8) a chemical dispensing device;--- often used in crimes? pepper spray "LARGE" ????
(9) a zip gun; or
(10) a tire deflation device.

That is my big one! Ideally, I also like to strike the concealed handgun portion of the language and only designate Licensees under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, so that it effectively converts a concealed handgun license to a concealed weapons license.RPB wrote:Top Priority IMHO

The main issue I am supporting is the "STOP" movement. Which is short for "Stop Troll's Online Postings." Other than that I am open.......

Welcome Ben. Forgive some of our suspicious posts....we know that anti gunners who fought to continue their discrimination monitored this site last session.
I'll leave it at this: I'm sure there are things we can help push for next session to continue expanding our freedoms. Lots of behind the scenes work goes on between sessions.
When a supportive or opposing call/fax is needed, Charles, the NRA and the TSRA will let us know that the legislators need to hear our voices.
Until then, it is unwise to post exact plans on a public forum and give our opponents any advantage or head start when it comes to blocking our pro freedom efforts.

Folks....No prob, I can understand being suspicious of someone new. I'm on my 2nd CHL renual and looking forward to the simplified 3rd version. I've read post on this forum for several years and this is where I always go to understand in depth any firearm issue(s). You're welcome to e-mail me @ bent1955@yahoo.com if you have any specific questions of me or who I am. Ben

That would be a big step forward for civil rights in Texas along with repealing 46.035.RPB wrote:Top Priority IMHO
