In mid-October 2008 I visited my (liberal, ugh) brother in North Austin. After a meal, we went for a walk around the neighborhood which is a good mix of high end homes and apartments. I don't believe I saw a single McCain sign; nothing but Obama. I commented to my brother that this is a very large echo chamber, and he replied that he likes it here, it's full of smart people.

I love my brother, but man, he sure can be an idiot.

We can't figure out why the deer is attacking our signs.

Explanation:
They are Texas deer, one said something about border fences, but I didn't understand the entire comment as it chewed it's cud ...

True story: About 55 years ago, there was a man out on Lake Buchanan who trained them and raised them and his wore cowbells. We used to go pet them, they weren't in a pen or fence, they were wild, but tamed, they came home to eat. He got started after some were orphaned and he took them in. I guess they spread the word that others should go get bells so they could get free food... (I guess he trained that batch as democrats.)
