Change? We have to change? I HATE change! What was wrong with the old lightbulb, anyways?

And 2 know-it-alls to poo-poo the use of light bulb noting that anyone with half a brain cell knows that the correct term is "lamp."

22 people to debate whether a lightbulb made by JMB would be superior and more elegant than a lighbulb designed by Glock. 37 to rebut with the argument that the Glock lightbulb would always light up when you flip the switch. All 22 original posters retort that boxy tupperware lightbulbs are ugly regardless.

One member to post a video of Bloomberg saying nobody needs a bulb bigger than 10W except the police and military.

I prefer the lightbulbs designed in 1911.Lonest4r wrote:22 people to debate whether a lightbulb made by JMB would be superior and more elegant than a lighbulb designed by Glock. 37 to rebut with the argument that the Glock lightbulb would always light up when you flip the switch. But, without buying the really high end ones, I never trust them right out of the box. I take them to my local lightsmith and have him do at least a filament job and usually adjust the output spectrum.
Remember, especially for miniature lights, most manufacturers recommend a 400-500 hour break in period. You want to get through that zone before you trust it during an emergency. You don't want a failure to illuminate (FTI) at the one moment where luminescence could save your life.

And a member who will add ... not to trust any bulb size that doesn't start with at least a 4 like a 40 0r 45 watt because they aren't powerful enoughrecaffeination wrote:One member to post a video of Bloomberg saying nobody needs a bulb bigger than 10W except the police and military.

How many forum members does it take to change a lightbulb?
None. Change has to come from "within" the bulb itself.
If the bulb was changed by others, this would negate the bulb's free will by an overprotective nanny state bureaucracy.
Lasting change to the bulb will not occur as a result of consensus thinking.

Especially strobe or "Automatic" lamps with high-current-capacity drivers. Any more than 1 illumination per second cannot be seen as a simple illumination device and surely falls far beyond any bulb that Edison would have envisioned at the time of its creation.recaffeination wrote:One member to post a video of Bloomberg saying nobody needs a bulb bigger than 10W except the police and military.

10W is about the right size for Bloomberg. After all, he is a dim bulb.recaffeination wrote:One member to post a video of Bloomberg saying nobody needs a bulb bigger than 10W except the police and military.

When your old fashioned white light bulbs burn out I hope that you change to UV lights. If you don't have any black lights in your house, you may be racist.
