Pierce +3 Extension?

Pierce +3 Extension?
Anyone have the +3 mag extensions on any of their magazines? I bought 2 of them for my G17 mags and could only get 2 extra rounds into them. I'm wondering if this is common?

I have LOTS of them, (more than 50, maybe more than 100) been using them for years.
I "hear" that Eventually, you'll be able to get 3 in if you follow directions and use the floor plate insert dealie.
I had one mag spring get tangled in the extra dealie you insert, after a round or two, all the cartridges had no spring pressure and just fell out ... I quit using those years ago.
Without the insert dealie, you have a tiny hole with no protrusion thingy in the base plate/floor plate.... IMHO, that's a good thing, it lets the water drain out.
Honestly I stopped using the inserts on Glock's +2 mags back in the 1980s with the gen 1 mags, tried using the Pierce ones, but will no longer use the inserts in either since a year or so ago.
Remove that dangerous insert to get 3 rounds in.
The newer mags, being steel lined and having those two tab things on the base are sturdy enough I never needed an extra base plate reinforcement thingy
I've never had a malfunctin with a mag where I removed the insert ... I have had a malfunction on a couple with the insert in them.
After you remove the base plate, remove the "extra part which can malfunction" and reinstall the base plate, look through the hole when finished and note the location of the spring on the baseplate.
I use a tool a round rat-tail type file and a chisel as my tools, but a nail or something can push the spring forward if you want to, but filling it and firing it empty a time or two to "test it" will work too.
I test all mags I'll be carrying... none ever failed with the extra part removed, good excuse to go shoot though.
And, I've carried them without that "extra part" daily since 2008 or 2009; never had a mag fall apart or a malfunction.

Re: Pierce +3 Extension?
Whoa. I'm happy I asked, I have the insert things in the mags right now. I'll be removing them I suppose. The idea behind buying them was to take my 17 round mags and make them 20 rounders
..... not that 17 isn't a respectable enough number... but bigger is better!
Thanks for the heads up!
