It finally happened

I've had my CHL a little over 1 year now and it has been pretty much without incident. The wife and kiddo and I were going out this weekend and I decide to carry OWB (I rarely do as it makes me very self conscious). I dress in an un-tucked button down that has adequate coverage and off we go. We are enjoying dinner and near the end of our meal the waiter comes back over and says quietly "Excuse me. Are you a Police Officer?" I respond with "No" and he quickly apologizes and walks off. I immediately check my cover as I am sitting with my strong side out. I find all is well there. I was not startled by the question as I have had that inquiry before. I seem to fit a profile to some. But my curiosity got to me and when he returned I ask why he asked. He quietly responds while looking at my waist "Because I saw IT." Now we left it at that. I have no idea when or how it was exposed, but it obviously was. I am so thankful for his composure and quiet inquiry. His tip was bumped up due to his handling of the issue. So that is it, one year and IT happened. OOPS! Now I will be very self conscious of my OWB carry.

I got assumed to be a cop by the lady behind the register once while in line at a Braums. No gun at the time, so that definitely wasn't it. I took it as a compliment, since obviously they saw some good qualities. I did inform them that, no, I was not an officer.

So far, about four months now, and cover has been maintained.
