Remember Our Law Enforcement Officers

Post by carlson1 »

It seems Texas has a lot of officers die in the line of duty in the last few weeks. Just wanted to post to remind all of us the danger these men and women face daily. :txflag: Of course not just Texas, but everywhere. :patriot:

DALLAS -- A man fatally shot a Dallas police officer Friday, sparking a standoff that ended with the suspect's capture.

The shooting happened in the 4100 block of Bernal Drive near Loop 12 in Dallas.
NBC 5 reported that the suspect, who was also shot, was armed with a rifle and slumped down inside a car that was riddled with bullets.
Dozens of officers with guns drawn had surrounded the vehicle before SWAT officers removed him from the car at about 7 p.m.
Police said the reason they were trying to stop the man was because he is a suspect in a murder just two days ago. The murder occurred at 3 a.m. in front of an Oak Cliff house located in the 1500 block of Southerland. A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in the incident.
The gunman ran off with several bags of marijuana, spilling some of them in the yard as he fled after the shooting. Another man escaped the shooting by jumping through a window, police said. Police apparently got a description of the suspect's car, which matched the car involved in the shooting.
Paramedics took the man from the scene in an ambulance.
According to a police statement, the suspect was transported to Parkland Hospital and is in critical condition. A weapon was found in the suspect's vehicle, the statement added. The officer was pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital,

No arguing that.

Around 2:30 this afternoon my brother-in-law (Deputy S. David Everton of Montgomery County SO) was involved in a major traffic accident in Spring. But thanks to the gracious love of our Lord he'll come home to his wife and twin 4 year old boys tommorrow.

God is good. Our prayers are with the fallen.

I think sometimes people look at the Police as if they were born that way. They forget they are human, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters.

Most of the guys in college with me have the same anti-cop mentality. It's sickening to hear such words spoken about people who do their best to uphold the law and keep everyone safe.

To think them perfect is impossible, to think them terrible is insulting.

My condolences to those who died in the line of duty.
