Called in by boss

Post by DSARGE »

Got called in the boss's office yesterday morning. He and HIS boss were sitting in there, and they asked me to shut the door. When I sat down, they started asking me alot of specific questions about my CHL. As I mentioned in a previous post, my work environment is gun friendly and many are outspoken CHL advocates and license holders. As the conversation progressed, my boss explained that he was running around 0400 yesterday morning and noticed three teenagers/early twenties males walking on the other side of the road. They noticed him running, stopped and turned, and started walking in his direction. He turned around and ran the other way. After a few hundred yards, he looked back to see them running at him. He had some distance on them and lost them. To make a long story short, he and his wife are in a CHL class today!
I found the Lord again--although he never lost me!

That's a much different outcome than what I expected when I read the subject line and your opening sentence!

Glad he got away.

Wow, that's not how I expected this story to go.

Nice going!

Good Job!

Strength in numbers, right?

It's always amazed me that none of the local gun shops / ranges offer the CHL class free or discounted with the purchase of a defensive handgun.

??? There is not much profit in guns as is, add having to pay an instructor and overhead and certificates and the other associated costs of a CHL class.......

??? I am aware of the profit margin or lack thereof on guns themselves. However, ammo and accessories have quite a profit margin along with range fees that are pure profit for the most part. Many of the local ranges have instructors on staff that work the store and range daily. The cost for the class is based on time only and what better way to create a lifetime customer.

It benefits all of us to have the general gun owning public better educated (obviously not everyone is a member of this site). Not to mention that we need more voters on our side, right?

I could go on at length about this, and I promise that I am not suggesting taking $$ out of the hands of instructors who rely on it for a living. The point is that he did a great job and I am not here to hijack his thread.

Stewardship is the responsibilty of all of us who want to protect our 2A rights. Correct?

ROTFL!!! Not what I expected; way to go!! You should have capped off the conversation by letting him know how hooked he'll be after his first trip to the range.
