A large percentage of the white, blue collar class residing in Massachusetts work seasonally, i.e, for the cranberry industry, small time commercial fishing, low end tourist work, etc.

When winter arrives most of this group unembarrassedly go on welfare.

How do I know? I lived there for a short time as a child. My white family was on welfare. Many of my white childhood, friends/families lived this seasonal work/welfare life.

There's a perverse pride among this group. If one shows initiative by dint of obtaining an education or working at establishing a business or in any way try to get ahead and out of this cycle of degradation - these folks will not be kind to you...

I don't know, but I would guess this seasonal work/welfare cycle is quite common throughout the rest of New England.

Undoubtedly too, there are other regions in our country where this malodorous phenomenon is quite common.

Do these folks prefer any and all forms of socialism?
