Just bought a Taurus 85M, .38 Spl, in stainless steel today. It's the one that looks like a S&W Centennial. The owner's manual warns that use of +P, +P+, etc., may wear the gun prematurely or cause failure. However, this gun is entirely stainless steel, weights almost 24 oz, and it sure feels heavy and rugged enough to withstand a fairly steady diet of +P. Anybody know if regular use of +P in this gun will cause premature wear or mechanical problems, or is Taurus just being over-cautious?
Thanks,

Re: Use of +P ammo in a Taurus 85M SS
Mine has shot +P with no issues at all. However I would not use +P as a steady diet once in a while should be ok.

"Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars."
1)Treat firearms as if they are loaded. 2)Point the muzzle away from non-targets.
3)Keep fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot. 4)Be sure of your target and backstop.
