I showed the newest member of the family to Venus Pax yesterday at PSC, but since this thread has been too quiet recently and I know that Longtooth will appreciate seeing the new carry decision, here are some small snaps of the Kimber Ultra CDP II (3-inch bull barrel, Tritium night sights, 7-round mag):

The plunger tube on my SA Load was a bit loose, so I took it apart. :???:

Now I have to order this tool so I can restake the plunger back into the frame.

Oh well, here is a pic of my sad Springfield.

And while I was taking pics, I took a pic of my Nighthawk. Probably the last piece I can afford for a long while.

I guess I'll be shooting my G-pistol this coming Wednesday.

Those pesky plunger tubes... I'm glad to hear that you're buying the tool so I know where to go when I need one. ;-)

That NightHawk is AWESOME! That's definitely high on my list of dream guns. If you ever decide to sell it, please give me first dibs.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

Kinny, ooh...a Nighthawk. This is quite a 1911 collection you're putting together.

I am now the proud owner of a 1911 now. I wanted the Stainless TRP SOOOOOO bad! I just couldn't make myself pull that much out of my pocket for it. So I got this instead(got a good deal too I think):

Springfield Loaded:

I added a stainless extended slide release, stainless beveled magwell/checkered mainspring housing, new stainless grip-screws, I believe there is some sort of aftermarket trigger that had already been done, and a Wilson Combat magazine:

Anyway, enjoy the pics. I'm excited. I plan to get a stainless barrel bushing, barrel, and thumb safety very soon. Now I gotta get this baby to the range!

Thats my kind of gun Skiprr. I have a Kimber Eclips Pro II with 4"
barrel. I wonder how they would compare at 15 yrds,-- the 3 & 4"

I have never shot a gun with a 3" barrel and I'm thinking the way
I carry, a 3" should be more comfortable.

Thanks guys. The arched main spring housing is THE way to go for me personally. It fits my hand much better than the flat. Plus I think it adds a little visual flair to it ;-)
