Vehicle: Would this pass as concealed?

Post by DJM »

Thought this would be the best place to ask before driving like this.

Before:

After:

Im just wedging a XD Sub-Compact in a Sticky LG6s holster between my seat and the console and throwing a shirt over it.
Thoughts/Suggestions?

With all this "gun control" talk,
I haven't heard one politician say how they plan to take gun from criminals,
just law abiding citizens.

I can't see a gun. Must be concealed.

In the first photo it's in plain view. In the second it's not. As long as the shirt doesn't fall off, I think you're fine.

When driving, I keep mine on the front seat or between the seats, if I'm not carrying it, in a drink holder (I hate saying that word), with just a towel covering the weapon.

I think the condition to be is "out of plain sight", but I'm not sure if that's just my interpretation or if that's a legal requirement.

Note: I've not been stopped in this condition, so no "field test" of this idea. Hoping it will be good enough.
If one were to look at the seat, no semblance of a gun can be discerned under the towel.

I opened the second link first to put myself in a LEO's shoes approaching your vehicle. I did not see anything out of the ordinary so I would say it passed as concealed.

One night I got pulled over when I was concealing similar to your picture. After the LEO approached my car I handed over my DL and CHL. The LEO asked if I had a handgun and I replied that it was between the seats. He asked "under the towel". I replied "Yes Sir." End of story.
