Ruger blackhawk convertable

Post by Rugerboy50 »

Next on the list is a .45acp/45lc or a .357/9mm

Really want to try the 45 route but i've heard the .357/9mm is a lot of fun to shoot.

Would like to hear so opinions on these guys.

I want to get the .357/9mm specifically for the 9mm cylinder. I want to keep all of my handguns 9mm, and I want a revolver too. If you end up getting a Ruger Blackhawk (in either set of calibers), be sure to post a review of it here!

Just in case, here is a list of 9mm revolvers that I've compiled so far: http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=56235" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I happen to have a Ruger New Vaquero convertable in .45. The .45 Colt cylinder is cool, I love shooting .45 Colt I might add, but the .45 ACP cylinder is almost more fun than you can imagine. I reload from a 1911 magazine when shooting the .45 ACP cylinder, the method is:
1. Hold revolver in left hand.
2. Open loading gate.
3. Eject spent brass using right hand to operate ejector.
4. using right hand place 1911 magazine over empty chamber and use thumb to press round out of magazine letting it fall into the chamber.
5. Turn Cylinder.
6. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 until completely reloaded.
7. Close reloading gate.
8. fire revolver until empty
9. repeat all above steps until you are out of ammo. :thumbs2:
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

I have a convertible Blackhawk in .357/9mm. It's one of the most fun guns to shoot I own. Great trigger, and there's just something fun about a single action.

I went with the .357 because I already owned a lever action rifle in .357.

Either one will be a lot of fun and you'll probably end up buying whichever one you don't buy now later. :biggrinjester:
