Cabelas has this rifle on sale for $999 right now. Is that a good price? Those of you who own or have shot one, what's your take on the gun? Top quality? Also ran? Does it compare to the AR-15? Completely different? What about mags? Interchangeable with PMAGs? Completely different?
The government has put me in the mood for buying an "assault weapon" before they ban them.

Re: SIG556
For that price range I'd rather a Colt
Re: SIG556
Thanks, but that doesn't answer any of my questions.

Top quality! A+ product. I love mine. I paid $1000.00 and thought it was a good deal back THEN, I would pay that price now. Is it the classic, SWAT, or a railed model?baldeagle wrote:Cabelas has this rifle on sale for $999 right now. Is that a good price? Those of you who own or have shot one, what's your take on the gun? Mags= takes anything that an AR takes.... I use PMAGS. I would compare it to: An AR-15 round and feel/features, with an AK style charging handle and recoil (recoil in the way it functions, not actual 7.62x39 vs 5.56)
It is my go-to rifle. Can't say enough good things about it.

pretty good price for an AR-ish clone. I'd snag it up at that price...

Re: SIG556
Well, this is weird. I googled for Sig556 for sale, and the Cabela's link was the first one: http://www.cabelas.com/semiautomatic-si ... es-3.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But when I go to Cabela's and work through their webpage, I don't find the 556. Only the M400 and the 716. Guess I'm gonna have to go to Cabela's to find out what's going on.

Top quality gun! I have both patrol and a swat version. I use PMAG magazines.
