My date is a keeper.

Post by Venus Pax »

I went on my girl date to the range this afternoon. As it turned out, the guys decided shooting guns would be more fun than practicing piano, so they came along too.
She had only shot a .22 Ruger, but picked up the safety habits very quickly. She was also very good about keeping her finger off the trigger.

I started her off on a 3 yard target with a .380. She got her first bullseye while on her first magazine. She wasn't scared at all and did very well.

She also shot the .38 special and my big girl (.45 1911). She liked them all.

The guys have practice starting next Sunday with the rest of the band, so she and I plan to head to the range again.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

Congrats on indoctrinating a new member to the club.

I am working to get a frined of mine to go shooting as well. He wants to, but his wife doesn't quite approve yet. She may be coming around though.
