Opened Gifts at Midnight!

Post by DLBConductor »

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and are looking forward to being with family tomorrow. This evening, my wife and I spent a quiet time together and opened our presents at midnight.

I got the usual gifts of aftershave, cologne, books, audio-books, and a nice Swiss Army watch but my best gift? A picture of a black Armor Tuff coated Wilson Combat CQB with ball endcuts. My wife is buying the CQB as my Christmas present. It should arrive from George at Gunslingers by Christmas 2013. In the meantime, I have the picture to drool over.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I also got a picture. My brother sent me this pic as my Christmas present.
It is the first gun I purchased 30 years ago. A charter arms police bull dog .38 snub. My brother was visiting his FIL (who talked me out of the gun when I was young and stupid).
Of course I inquired about the possibility of reacquiring the weapon (how cool would it be to have it back).
His FIL response, "It's got a bent barrel that shoots around corners. I couldn't possibly pawn off such a horrible weapon on someone and still sleep at night."
Looks like I'm going to have to wait until he dies to have any hope of being reunited with my first love. Guess it would be wrong for me to hope that i have it by Christmas 2013? At least I can frame the pic.

Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.

Wow, your story really hurts. I hope your brother's FIL reads this and changes his mind. Over the years, I found that when I sold something, I invariably regretted it. Now at the age of 69, I am starting to give many things away to my younger relatives, friends, and students who I know will actual use and enjoy the items. It is almost as much fun finding a new home for these treasures as it was acquiring and using them in the first place.

Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
