M&P Shield

Post by jmra »

Sure would like to get my hands on one of these.

Anybody seen one in the DFW area lately? Going to the FW gun show Saturday but not holding my breath that there will be any available.

Looking for the 9mm.

I've called many places all throughout DFW and they all laugh when asked if they have any. So I sent Smith and Wesson a few emails. They told me they would be having most of the back orders filled by the start of the new year. So I guess a few more weeks and they should start popping up but I imagine they will go quick. Good luck on your search and if you find any let me know! :tiphat:

True. May just have to wait a couple of weeks. Hitting FW gun show this week and Dallas Market Hall on the 5th. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Thanks for all the input. Think we've got it narrowed down to lc9 and sr9.

Not the sexiest choice, but they fit the bill except for double action pull on the lc9.

Now have to find them during the great gun scare of 2012

But share with us...did you consider the Shield at all? If so, what made you chose the lc9?

Has anyone seen a M&P Shield lately?

I was not in the market until recently and I can NOT find one anywhere. Any help would be appreciated! I am in the Austin/San Antonio areas and anywhere in between...

There was one at Red's (in Pflugerville, near Austin) last week. It's not there anymore, though; I took it home with me. A lady I shoot with told me a friend of hers got one at Cabella's two weeks before that, but paid over $600 for it (mine was under MSRP). I know earlier this year Academy occasionally had them -- at multiple locations here in the Austin area -- but they were always on hold for someone.

If anyone just wants to hold one, the Bullet Trap in Plano had one but it wasn't for sale (they wanted it as a floor model, I guess). That was a couple of months ago.

They are starting to show up here and there. I found one about a month ago and the price was slightly higher than MSRP. There was a report about a week or so ago about another for MSRP. Both of those were in the greater Houston area

I lucked into one at MSRP about a week ago. Just browsing around Collectors Firearms and couldn't believe when I saw it in the shelf. Gentleman told me he didn't even know they had one. Told him to ring it up immediately.

Yup...you can mine the occasional nugget at Red's.
