I'm telling you that woman Feinstein KNOWS she ain't going to get that monstrous piece of garbage pushed through. She overdid it. Which means she wants something else and I think its to stop private, person-to-person sales of firearms...or as the left-wing gun-banners call to make it sound dirty: the "gun show loophole". They want you to have to go through an FFL for every firearms transaction (as people are forced to do in The Peoples' Democrat Socialist Workers Paradise Kah-lee-foh-nee-ah)...well, at least us law-abiding citizens will be forced to do so...the crooks and criminals will still do what they do every day to buy guns with no paperwork involved...but Feinstein doesn't care, because I'm going to guess she's got a nice fat tax, oh wait, filing fee, cooked up to go with the REAL legislation that will be her "compromise" when her obviously over-the-top AWB gets shoved back into her face. Then, she trots the other one out and says "WELL, if you meanies won't think of the children and stop these awful assault machinegun laser death rays with megaclips and shoulderthings that go up, then at least be REASONABLE and stop people from selling them through the GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE!" I'm telling you, that woman has an evil streak a mile wide and she ain't stupid as she may seem to be.

On an actual related note, if they tried the "must be given to the gov on your death" thing, wouldn't that violate the prohibition against unreasonable seizure?

Backgrounds and registration on top of gun bans really concerns me. While not all citizens will comply, many will.

Ok, maybe it's just me, so I am putting this here for others to see. The following are links to Sen. Feinstein's website, and a random report that she has linked to (I assume) substantiate her Gun Ban proposal.

Skip to pg 103 & 104, (Unless you want to read the whole thing) and read the Conclusions (6.3.4) and tell me I am delusional. But, the way I read it, the report supports our side; the ban didn't work, which we already knew.

This mess may be realistic in FEINSTEIN'S limousine-liberal mind, but I'm betting that a lot of her cronies and pals will use it for bargaining leverage to get whatever it is they think they can actually bamboozle enough Republicans into voting for...and unfortunately, there will be something.

^^^^ THIS, is what i see as the goal for Feinstein proposal, it is a throwaway coming from a hardliner,,,, with full knowledge it will never pass, but allows both sides to "compromise" and save face... Everybody wins, except us and the US Constitution.

It would be if the Constitution was still in force and we lived under the rule-of-law. However, we don't, and for a very clear example of this, look at the death tax....they wipe out family farms and businesses and take up to 55% (starting again in 2013) of what someone has spent their life accumulating. How reasonable is that?

Diane Frankenstein is like the big government robber that says, "Give me all your money!".

We reply, "You already take half of my money!"

Her response is, "Let compromise. Only give me 75% of your money."

I am very willing to compromise with her. Let's see, they took away half my gun rights with the 1934 NFA. Lost half of what was left in the 1968 GCA. Lost another half of what was left with the 1986 Hughes Amendment. Of the 6.25% of my gun rights that were left, the other 20,000 gun laws in this country nibbled away at most of that, leaving me with about 1%.

So I'll compromise. Give me 49% of my gun rights back by eliminating all that useless and infringing horse manure. I promise to wait a couple years before asking for the rest of them back.

But, from her point of view, the government owns EVERYTHING, they just let you possess stuff until they get around to taking it back. So, in essence, you DID buy it from them.
