A Peaceable March on Washington

Post by sodchemist »

As a group, we who cherish our firearm liberties have never marched in the numbers that truly represent our size. If a ban is put before congress, then I believe that every single one of us in the Texas CHL Forum, in as much as physically and financially possible, must plan on traveling to Washington for a peaceable march. The second amendment is in grave danger. Our domestic enemies--albeit elected--pose a greater threat to this freedom than our foreign enemies. The defense of the second amendment--and the honor of all of those who fought and died defending it--merits the emergence of the largest political protest in the history of the United States. If I am getting this idea in my head and heart, then I am certain that tens of thousands of others are too. It would be best if such a march was truly grass-roots and organized loosely by social media--the people--as opposed to being organized by a political organization (like the NRA, although God bless them); it cannot be a one day affair either. We must occupy, and we should start planning now. Although fear is tempting, now is not the time to hide in the hope that you avoid being put on a list, nor the time to concoct stories of how you lost your registered firearm. The time is nigh for a peaceable march on Washington, by the people who cherish their firearms and weapons. The Supreme Court of the United States has reaffirmed our liberty, and we must march.

Road trip! :patriot:

Count me in to support the 1st and 2nd. If I can't make it to Washington I will go assemble wherever they will have me.

The last 2nd Amendment March didn't go so well.

If I was fantasizing, there would be a million men & women (heck it is a fantasy -- make it five million), who gather on the Virginia side of the river (the Arlington National Cemetery seems appropriate) with their battle rifles of all shapes and sizes. Then march across the river into gun-ban DC and converge on the Capitol demanding they stop this foolishness "or else".
