I am looking to source a stainless steel grip safety, safety and slide release for my SR1911 (RUGER) and would like to know if anyone has some advice / feedback on places i can try to buy these aftermarket parts. I seem to remember a few months ago i came upon a supplier on-line but for the life of me i cant find it again. Any feedback from you good folks would be appreciated.
Thanks

So many choices:

http://www.smithandalexander.com/gripsafety.html
http://www.edbrown.com/cgi/htmlos.cgi/parts.htm
http://shopwilsoncombat.com/1911-Access ... tments/13/
Be mindful that parts will require fitting. If you have to file, grind or otherwise modify a part always work on the cheapest part :-)

Midway USA has a good selection of parts from many different manufacturers, find what you like and what fits your wallet.

Cylinder and Slide always has good stuff too.

Re: Ruger SR1911 Upgrades
Are you installing yourself? The grip safety may drop in but you will need to function check it. The safety will likely need fitting and the slide release needs to have the same diameter shaft so you need to measure yours. Wrong shaft size will screw up your barrel lockup.

I will probably have a gunsmith do it .......... after i buy the parts online. I just need to find a good source for the parts as i think it will look super cool "tricked out" in stainlessrm9792 wrote:Are you installing yourself? Stainless always looks good. Plus it can be polished out when it scratches. I get parts from brownells and midway. Midway shipping has always been extremely fast for me.

Re: Ruger SR1911 Upgrades
My gunsmith used Brownells for most of the 1911 parts. Some of the Ed Brown pieces didn't need much fitting.
