Tickets to Houston-area gun shows are still available, but taxpayer-funded directions are not.

Texas Department of Transportation officials in Houston are suspending the use of freeway message signs for firearms-related events, citing concerns about their use days after the Newtown. Conn., school shooting.

"We had several people say 'Hey, this is bad timing,'" said Stuart Corder, director of transportation operations for TxDOT's Houston district. "We understand there is a wide a range of opinions and we've got to be sensitive to people's concerns."

typically the bridal shows occur at the same time and place as the gun show. Which is convenient? If you are interested in gun shows than chances are you already know where to find one or at the very least you can google it.

Not a fan of thoses signs anyway.

state oficial 1: we have some money in the budget should we spend it on reducing congestion and long traffic times?
state official 2: no, what we need is a sign! It will tell exactly how much time they are spending in traffic. Because what the people want is metric of how much of their life they spend wasting away in their car.
state offcial 1:...
state official 1: THAT'S BRILLANT!
