Depending on the model you're looking for, new they can go anywhere from about $750 to well over $1000. Used can be found in the $600 range, however the 9mm versions are the hardest to find, especially in a used or CPO gun. Talking with Mark at Summit Gun Brokers, he almost never sees used 229 9mms. I've linked to a nice basic model below, only upgrade is night sights, but for the price its a good deal.
