10+ round magazine ban

Re: 10+ round magazine ban
I have an old Marlin 336 30-30, the top of the receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Weaver type scope mounts. For utility reasons I had a smith fashion a rail section to screw into those mounting holes. I don't see this as a problem vis a vis the ban, due to the fact that the tubular magazine won't accept more than 6 rounds. I would not want to carry a lever action that had a mag extension capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

Not so sure...I saw somewhere the ban would include pump shotguns with a magazine capacity greater than 5 rounds. So, will they apply the same lack of logic to lever action rifles? I haven't read anything about the tubular mag on centerfire rifles, but I think rimfire rifles with tubular mags of greater than 10 round capacity are exempted.Andrew wrote:I have an old Marlin 336 30-30, the top of the receiver is drilled and tapped to accept Weaver type scope mounts. Re: 10+ round magazine ban
I don't guess it would a valid argument for us but, I have a large number of mags for the firearms I shoot the most...this is simply for the fact that I am lazy. I would prefer to fill 20 mags and head off to the range and spend my time shooting rather than loading. If there was a capacity limit that would severely hinder my laziness

LOL, Yes! LULA lazy(my brides term)that's me. I've lost all the callus on the ends of my thumbs since I got one for both pistol and rifle magazines.jdhz28 wrote:I don't guess it would a valid argument for us but, I have a large number of mags for the firearms I shoot the most...this is simply for the fact that I am lazy.
