My letter to Pete Olson

Post by Wodathunkit »

Borrowed a lot of useful info I got from TCHL forum. Thanks for this great place to discuss things :txflag:

Dear Congressman Olson,

I am writing you (and both of my senators) today for the first time ever and it is regarding this unconstitutional gun ban regulation that is being proposed. I have had enough of this anti-gun rhetoric that is being bandied about at the national level. I feel that the federal government imposes too much regulation regarding fire arms. We should be moving the other direction.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is/was not established for “hunting”. It was established for self preservation, it was also established to protect us from government intervention into the private lives of its citizens. Therefore, I make the following requirement of your office;

DO NOT COMPRIMISE. GIVE NO GROUND. DO NOT SURRENDER any more rights given to me by the second amendment. There is no compromise with this administration, it is concession. It has to stop here. We have conceded enough;

Compromise - The National Firearms Act of 1934
Compromise - Gun Control Act of 1968
Compromise - Clinton Executive Orders
Compromise - The Hud/Smith and Wesson agreement
Compromise - The Brady Law
Compromise - The School Safety and Law Enforcement Improvement Act

I’m done being reasonable and I’m done with compromise.

Right or wrong, I have never been active in the workings of my government other than voting straight republican ticket. I guess this makes me a single issue voter, because if you vote to concede my rights as granted to me by the second amendment, I will campaign for anyone and everyone who runs against you for the rest of my days.

I cannot be more serious than this.

Respectfully,

I've written a letter with like minded thoughts.
I hope all members on this forum do as well.
It is not enough to sit back and watch and wait.
PLEASE...write that letter before you wish you had.
Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
Stand brave and upright that the Lord may love thee.
Speak the truth always even if it means your death.
Protect the helpless and do no wrong!
