If we assume the worst case outcome where some version of gun control legislation appears to gain enough support to possibly pass, what favorable measures should we seek to have added either for our benefit or to poison the bill so it won’t pass?
National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity along the lines of H.R. 288/S.2188 that failed in the last session?
Expanded CHL carry on Federal property, e.g., ACOE, military installations, USPS, etc.?
End to gun free school zones?

I love the way you think.AndyC wrote:Here's my compromise: National, legal concealed-carry and the repeal of gun-free zones.
That's it. They don't get anything - just as they've done to us for decades.

Re: Gun Control Bill Amendments?
I fully agree with all of you about NO COMPROMISE. We have compromised enough. My OP was not about compromise. That said, if there is a bill that is likely to pass, I am looking for amendments that will get some things we want along with those amendments that will kill the bill from the perspective of the antis. As you know, the antis killed H.R. 288 by adding amendments we could not live with. It's time we played the same game.

OK, how's this for an amendment
If a balanced budget is not passed within the first fiscal quarter of each year, all members of congress as well as the president become ineligible for re-election, their terms automatically expire at the end of that fiscal year and all federal benefits that would have been due to them upon leaving office are forfeited. (no lifelong pay, insurance, security details, etc.). With an exemption for times where the Congress has authorized a formal declaration of war of course.
Pretty straight forward and pretty much terminal to any bill.
