Firefighters from Humble and Atascocita are battling a major fire at the Sportsmen's Outlet on FM 1960, according to Humble Police dispatcher R. Herzog.

The multi-alarm fire, in northeast Harris County, started at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, Herzog said. Firefighters were still at the scene at 9:50 p.m.

The business includes an indoor shooting range, and sells a wide variety of hunting gear and police gear, including guns and ammunition, Herzog said.

Herzog said she had not heard from any of the law enforcement or firefighters at the scene and did not know whether there were any injuries.

I think often for the safety of the firefighters and other emergency personnel responding to this emergency...

I know quite a few of the Atascosita VFD folks that might be there right now...Who knows...I haven't seen the news on the severity of this conflagration...

But the timing makes me scratch my head a little bit...

Guess I'll go see what the local news hacks have for us...

This was found on AR15.com last night:

My partener said that a police academy was shooting out there and somehow they accidently started it. This is unconfirmed ofcourse but she said it started at the firing line and somehow made it into the store. She is friends with the owner.
