Now the wait begins.......
Finished my CHL qualifying and testing last night. Now the wait begins. How long does it usually take to get it? I sent it out in the mail today.

Welcome Mike!
It'll take anywhere from 24 days to 8 months. I think those were the extremes I've heard about in my time here on the forum. Mine took more than 80 days, but I filled out a form wrong.
Go to the "waiting room" and read through some of the posts there. The DPS has gotten faster since the beginning of the year and wait times are way below the 60 days they officially have to turn your plastic around.

A buddy of mine at work got his in less than two weeks. Him being a former Marine and retired Army CPT might have had something to do with a more speedy background check, but I doubt it. We're both Federal service right now, so maybe I will have the same luck as him and get mine back quick.
I'm sure I filled out all the paperwork right, but a little apprehensive about my passport photos, which were taken by my CHL instructor and not EXACTLY to DPS's specifications. I hope they won't be too picky.. we'll see. Status: "Processing Application..."
