Thanks for the link Saulnier.

Did anyone click on the "anti" article near the top? Rather than hijack this thread, I'm going to start another one to pick that apart.

That's a great read. Did anybody read the opposing view. The professor from UCLA said: "Most days, it is not at all hard to feel proud to be an American. But on days such as this, it is very difficult."

If he finds it so hard to be an American I have a solution for him. He is already in California, so it wouldn't be a big change.

I already sent him a reply to that effect, doubt that I will receive a reply.

That Tom Pate guy is a moron.

These students were not killed by a Korean, they were killed by a 9 mm handgun and a .22-caliber handgun.
Last time I checked, (which was yesterday evening  ) a gun couldn't do anything by itself.
"Guns don't kill people," goes the gun lobby's absurd mantra. Far fewer guns in America would logically result in far fewer deaths from people pulling the trigger. The probability of the Virginia Tech gun massacre happening would have been greatly reduced if guns weren't so easily available to ordinary citizens.
No, this would result in law abiding citizens not being able to own guns. Does he realistically think that the criminals would all of a sudden lay down their guns if a total gun ban was imposed? You cannot control what an evil person intends to do, no matter how many laws you pass.
Last month, I was robbed at 10 in the evening in the alley behind my home. As I was carrying groceries inside, a man with a gun approached me where my car was parked. The gun he carried featured one of those red-dot laser beams, which he pointed right at my head.
Yeah, this guy sounds like an honest model of society. Their ignorance (or stupidity) just amazes me.

You have no idea how crazy anti gun some Lo-Cal people are.

Years ago I took a friend to visit family in TN during deer hunting season. I am the oldest of 7 kids - 5 boys included - 3 of us are vets. Dad ( another vet ) and my brothers were out hunting when we got there so we went into the kitchen to relax with my Step Mom.

All the men get back and clear their rifles and put them on the sofa by the door.

My friend heads back outside to get something, sees the rifles, and comes back to me:

"THERE ARE LOADED GUNS BY THE DOOR!!!!!"

So we all went running OUTSIDE looking for the guns.

We looked all over.

Then I realized what was going on.

And this is someone who works in the defense industry.

On air at CNN right now is a roundtable discussion on gun control on "Glenn Beck," Headline Prime. Panelists are Nugent, Don Clark (former head og the FBI in Houston), and Dave Glover, a radio talk-show host from Ohio.

Clark is being the Anti of the group. Everybody else is pro-gun, and even Beck is steering the arguments toward (the logic) of RKBA. Clark is gettin' beat up...

I watched the repeat of that show on Sunday, I think it was amazing. Ted was very well spoken and direct as he always is from what I've seen on "Spirit of the Wild".

At least Don Clark (FBI guy)says that he believes in 2A and he carries for protection, his only beef was that he doesn't think that everyone should carry. He says we should rely on Law Enforcement to protect us.
In reply to that, Ted stated the SCOTUS ruling that LE is not required to protect anyone.

I didn't like Don Glovers view where I understood him to say that IF we could find a way for law enforcement to protect us 24/7 then he would agree that we don't need guns. That is contrary to what I think most gun rights folks believe because that would only give total power to the government and while we may be protected from criminals, nothing would protect us from the government.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...
