Are you sure that rifle is legal? It looks evil.

It's a green rifle, not a black one, so it's OK.baldeagle wrote:Are you sure that rifle is legal? It looks evil.

Re: New Rifle is finished!

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, or the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

That rifle is a hot mess. ESP the scope.

Re: New Rifle is finished!
Great looking rifle! You will like the Creedmoor, it is a very accurate cartridge and is easy to load if you go that path. I have a Savage Long Range Precision in that caliber and it is extremely accurate out to 1000 yards (and probably further but that is as far as the range goes where I can shoot it).
Do you plan to load for it or shoot the Hornady factory ammo? Their ammo is good (1/2 MOA or maybe a little better). If you decide to reload, Reloader 17 is a great powder (at least in my rifle) and will give you a little more velocity than the H4350. I have been using the Lee neck sizing dies with great success. That is now a catalog item for them as the set I got was the first ones they built (they made them custom). Those dies work extremely well and make some very accurate ammo.
Please let us know how it shoots.

Munk and Carry a Kimber,
Do you use those rifles for some type of long range competition? If so, where do you go to shoot that and how often do that have those matches? I would like to try that out but that is not offered anywhere on the south side of Houston other than F class bench rest at Bayou. I don't mind driving to get to a range what does that to learn more about how to use my rifle.
Thanks,
John

Mostly I just have mine laying on top of my bar. Sometimes when we have some friends over for cocktails we pass it around and take turns posing with it. It is more of a novelty than anything else.LTUME1978 wrote:Munk and Carry a Kimber,
