A good friend of mine had lusted after a Coonan for years. When they recently started making them again, he pounced.
He loves his. He is also an avid reloader and has shot A LOT of rounds through his.
Another friend carries a Coonan as his EDC. Helps that he owns a gun store and lives in an open carry state. He is quite taken with his as well.
If money was no object, I'd pick one up just to have it. I already have a couple of 1911's anyway, so sure, I'd be interested in a Coonan.

I've shot a Coonan a fair amount and its a nice custom.
Don't buy one without at least two magazines. The mags are custom made and may run as much as $200 in you can find one (at least when I looked 2-3 years ago).
No, a quality 1911 is a better firearm for 99.999999% of the folks unless there have been big changes.
