As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Sidwell school's guards NOT armed?

Post by A-R »

Wow, if this is true (no armed guards at POTUS's and David Gregory's kids' school other than SS detail) then the NRA has really stepped in a pile with that ad ...

And Ellis Turner, associate head of Sidwell Friends, told us emphatically: “Sidwell Friends security officers do not carry guns.” (Note: this includes those listed as special police officers.)

The guards are probably not armed due to the Secret Service being present. The SS doesn't even allow local LEO's to remain armed around POTUS. I got to shake GW's hand and we had to be unarmed IN UNIFORM to do this. With that said, there still would be an entire armed detail, hence the president having armed guards for his kids.

I read several of them are armed and some are not. Cannot remember where I saw it.

Its probably the media using a technicality to cover the POTUS and David Gregory's backside...the SCHOOL guards aren't armed, but the armed guards aren't actually SCHOOL employees. I'm certain that the NRA would have done their research before making an ad like they did.

The President surrounded himself with children to push gun control, and you feel the NRA stepped in it? You need to stop listening to the media. They've warped your brain.
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison
