In celebration of the coronation I went to Cabelas... wow

Well since I couldn't watch any tv I figured I would drive to Buda and visit Cabelas to see if I could get some ammo. Wow just wow is all I can say. Most of the shelves were empty. The only items available were 12 guage target loads, 17 wmr, and some 300 winmag. That is it!!! Also not semi automatic rifle too be had in the store. the racks only had bolt action and shot guns. Yet there was a line probably 20 people waiting and they were all buying!!! the handgun cases were about half full. very sad. At least they haven't raised prices tremendously...

Now if Americans were turning in their guns by the thousands that would be sad. All these people buying guns are not doing so in order to turn them in in 6 months.

I suspect that if the same Americans had voted differently in the last election, they wouldn't be panic buying now. Just sayin'

I agree and I did my part. I voted, my husband voted, my neighbors voted, my mom voted, my dad voted, my siblings voted, my friends voted. I did all I could do. In their defense of the naive and foolish that voted for Obama thinking their guns were safe, they were deceived. All be it in a flimsy manner, but they were deceived. In my state Tim Kaine ran on "I like Obama and I like guns" and he got voted in (not by me!). Now he has flipped and will likely walk hand in hand with Obummer off to the sunset.

Here in Texas, more votes against the big O wouldn't have mattered. He didn't carry Texas, and winner-take-all means that winning or losing by 1 vote is enough.

It's the folks who didn't show up in Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, Nevada, Wisconsin, Florida, New Mexico, and Colorado that should be kicking themselves for not going to the polls.

The State that you live in is different than it was 20 years ago and you are not responsible for those changes. This article is from Sept, 2012, before the election but it points to why things in Virginia went as they did.

You are not easily duped. Most of the people in those changing demographics are. So not only did the last election go badly but it would appear that Virginia politics are going to be very bad for thinking voters for the foreseeable future. Those people in Loudoun, Fairfax, etc are going to be very surprised one day when the Federal gravytrain on which they counted runs out of money.

When the defense cuts come (and they will) there are going to be a ton of people up in N. Va hurting in a bad way. It is going to be a painful drop to them. Happily my husband works in as relatively secure area of industry....energy....and one that has prepared for the EPA's power grab. So for the moment we will be ok.

My wife and I showed up. Unfortunately, I have some personal experience with voting corruption in New Mexico (they "lost" my registration two elections in a row, and only reluctantly fixed it after I politely blew a gasket in City Hall - I'm the wrong party, you see). I have ZERO confidence in the veracity of the final vote count here in New Mexico; but I vote anyway, if for no reason other than to cancel out a fraudulent vote.

And no, we didn't vote for Captain Zero, either.
