Question About News Media

Post by Running Arrow Bill »

I'm serious...

Does anyone have any recommendations of a News Network that purports to report News "neutral" or NOT anti-gunner? Seems like NBC gives a lot of coverage to King Obama and related anti-gunner news and interpretations...

Thanks,
Bill

FoxNews is the ONLY other side of the stories. I am not sure that there even exists one that is truly "neutral".

Too much money involved to be neutral.

Fox News is about as good as you're going to get. Russia Today started out acting like a source for American patriots (believe it or not) but eventually came out as the anti-American propaganda wing of the Russian government.

Try this http://patriotpost.us/
The Patriot Post is a news agregator with a conservative slant. But they usually have a lot of links to different news/information sites. As has already been said, I don't think that there is truly neutral news site out there.

I believe all our major news organizations have been brought under control by like minded people who want the world to belong to the progressives and to be disarmed. Propaganda is all we really get now. The sad thing is our youth haven't a clue for the most part or there would not be so many parroting what the libs say.

I think neutral news is a theoretical concept that is not to be found in nature.

If you had a news organization, would it be"neutral?" No, not according to the anti's to pick one example, nor to criminals, nor to mentally disordered Democrats, if you will forgive the redundancies.

I'm surprised to read that this bias on the part of NBC is just now apparent to you. I have long avoided C-bull, N-bull and A-bull for this very reason, even before Dan Rather disgraced himself with the preposterous story about George W. Bush's military service.

There are two problems with our media. First they don't often know what they are talking about. Airplanes are either Cessna, Lear jets or airliners, or small private planes, which can refer to anything from a Piper Cub to a G-IV. I have on several occasions been present at some event that was later reported in the news, print and TV, and would not have recognized it from the account presented.

Secondly, even when they balance the stories on rare occasions, their bias is present in the selection of which stories they cover. It is impossible to cover every happening that might be newsworthy in the time and space constraints they have. This is most prominent in the national media, where you never see a discouraging word about liberal issues, unless and until they can't ignore the blue dress. If they can find a story to make conservatives look stupid, greedy, spiteful, or negative in some other way, that gets headlines and prime time coverage for days.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Wouldn't neutral news just be reporting the facts?

When any journalist biases the reporting based on their belief system it is biased.

There is a difference between providing facts and providing editorial opinions. I would like to have both.

I stopped "trusting" FoxNews when they started using the Associated Press for their national "wire service". The AP is EXTREMELY biased toward gun-control and against the Second Amendment. Now, some of the commentators on FoxNews are still decent people when it comes to firearms, even if you don't care for their style...but if you read Fox webpage stories, pay attention to all the firearms related stories and look what the source is...almost every time, it is the AP. In any story dealing with firearms, you MUST read between the lines.

Exactly, me also. I am convinced that news outlets' primary objective is to sell advertising - they do that by tailoring the message to their particular audience. I do believe there is a surreptitious secondary objective to propagate the typical university liberalism group-think message which is where the journalism students are 'educated.'

Also, the media uses quick, provocative sound bites that are designed to be certain that the viewers/listeners are exposed to their advertising. Just think how boring the news would be if they presented objective news without interjection of opinions and speculation and assumed the audience had an attention span of more than 30 seconds :headscratch .

Sorry, off on a bit of a rant.

Yes, for major TV news, Fox is about it. For print news, I've been a reader of the Wall St Journal for 30 years, their op-ed section has a decidedly conservative tilt.

There are no news networks in the US anymore. All of them are touting one or another version of propaganda, and most of them are essentially fronts for the Democratic Party and the "progressive" agenda. While the same is true outside the US, ironically, some sources in other countries actually reveal more truth than you get get from the US media....even the obviously biased UK media lets more truth creep out than ours does. RT has some really good programming, especially on finance and economics. There is no "neutral" source of "news" in the US now and in fact, the major networks and publications, emboldened by reelection of The One, are openly displaying their biases.

I think a case can be made that everything in the media these days is advertising in one form or another.

My kid works for a company called Newsy. They take news from multiple sources and compile it into a single story and are pretty unbiased. http://www.newsy.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
