Found one a the show this weekend.

Marlin 1895 20" in 45-70. Took it for a test run today. Quite the thumper when you're lobbing 405 grain blobs of lead! Here it is with it's FAL roommate. Man, lever guns are pretty simple and just plain cool! I'm not too hot with the buckhorn sight though. Might need to get a rear peep sight.

Cheers!

Very nice! I have one, and I love it. Check out Skinner Sights, they seem to be pretty highly thought-of among Marlin owners. I know I like them.

Did they just come out of the dryer or were you getting ready to put them in the washer? "rlol"

Oooh - you did the folding charging-handle, too - very nice :cheers2:
It's a DSA. The changes to it is just stuff that I replaced over a couple of years. Not entirely necessary, but things that I felt were in need of work. I truly hate those plastic handguards they normally have hence the VLTOR one. I don't put anything on the rails, though. It's a FAL, after all! I also replaced the standard rear sight with a paratrooper style peep. The only thing that probably didn't need replacing (but I did anyways) is the flash hider from Smiths Enterprises. The scope is a Leupold 3-9x because my oldish eyes don't do so well out past 200 yards! It's QD rings, so I do shoot it with irons about 50% of the time.

Yup, that is the folding charging handle. I bungled on a fabrication run of them at the FAL FIles forum. The last thing I'm intending to replace is that little nubbin' they call a mag release. I've got the bigger one en route and my thumb is looking forward to it.

Yeah, that's something I'll have to look into. I don't do so well with blade or buckhorn sights, so a peep of some type is in my future.
Cheers!

Yeah, now I'm looking into sights and leather for it (sling and stock cover). I've already ordered 250 bullets (lasercast 405 gr) and some reloading stuff for it. Giggity.
Cheers!
