And lever action.grim-bob wrote:seem to remember several issues with 17hmr and semiautos having issues. i think even a few companies pulled their semiauto rifles for that caliber if I remember right. Pretty much a bolt gun only round. Same as others here that it is a fun little accurate round from the few times I had a chance to shoot it.

That's right, I forgot about them. I think when I saw the price, I made myself forget about them as an option.VMI77 wrote:Not true. Volquartsen makes them.Jumping Frog wrote:No-one makes a semiauto in this caliber anymore.

I read about them first and was hot to get one....until I found out how much they cost.Jumping Frog wrote:That's right, I forgot about them. I have one and love it, killed many a coyote with it at ranges up to 150 yards. I've been picking it up alot more lately due to the fact that I can always still seem to find ammo for it.
Re: Tell me about 17 HMR...
I have a Savage .17HMR bolt action. I think it's a great value - I actually spent more on the scope than I did on the rifle - which is far more accurate than I am. In relatively still air, I've found that it will do everything I ask of it out to at least 200 meters.
I will say that if the wind start getting up, that little 17 grain pill gets pushed all over the map, even at 100 meters.
