Red Dot and Holographic Sights - Where to check some out

Post by PBR »

Well now days I just cant see iron sights like I use too. With getting older and an accident I had several years back it has left my vision pretty bad. I'm looking at getting a Red Dot sight but with so many brands and styles I'm wondering if there is a place around Houston area where you can actually check some out and look through them. I bought one awhile back, a UTG Red Dot Tube style but it just didn't work very well and didn't look right, it was a cheaper brand so wasn't expecting a whole lot. Now bare in mind there is no way I can afford an eotech or nice high dollar ones. I'm looking more for around $120 limit. Just would be nice if was somewhere could actually view them and check them out

Don't know where you would find one to look at, but I really like my Lucid HD7. I think it was about $175 shipped but it is worth every penny.

The next gun show you can get to. They usually have just about all kinds there. That's where I took my BIL to show him all the different ones. You don't have to buy if you don't want, but it might be the easiest way to check out severla different types and models of one brand.

+1 on Primary Arms. I've got the micro red dot on my AR. It works great and I think it was only around a hundred bucks. I leave it on all the time and the battery has lasted 8 months.

May 3-5 at the NRA Annual meeting and expo - George R. Brown Convention Center.
I've been to these in the past and, trust me, everyone who sells any kind of sights will have a booth.
It will be a great time.

+2 on Primary Arms in Pearland. Great guys to deal with, good prices, and they carry everything from affordable to really expensive and sweet optics.

Plus, you can get Mexican food at Don Picos after you do your shopping!

Mmmmm...cheese dip.
