Is there a way to attach a photo of the sign if available?

The only thing I'm not sure about is the "Valid" Column. I think if a place is posted incorrectly, they shouldn't be in the database, otherwise you may end up with a bunch of business who post the "ghostbusters" sign and what not. Plus it lets them know to change their sign.

I forgot to mention that I think the site is a great idea!

It is a catch 22 though, on one hand I want to see the list grow, but then that means more business are banning us. On the other hand if no businesses were posted, your site would go under.

I strongly suggest you make the legal disclaimer at the bottom a popup for non logged in people. Just use a msgBox. If logged in, do not pop the box because you should also make the disclaimer on the new user registration form with a check box for acceptance and log in the database the date/time/box_checked or not along with the registering IP Address.

Just a suggestion...

Also,
When I hit various parts of the site, I get popups from my AV Software telling me baddies are present, might want to look at that. Still, not bad for Version 1 :-)

Avast and McAfee 8.5i with Spyware addon caught it.

I think you should put everything in an iFrame personally... :-)

I would also make the column headers clickable (Sortable) int he View Listing that way when someone wants to sort differently, it will nto cost you a db query...

I am not a computer wiz, but I have not had a problem with the site. I made an entry also without a problem. Good luck on solving this one. ;-)

The search (perhaps more of the interface) needs some work. Perhaps a quick/simple search with a drop down menu for category and a text input field for the search term(s). Then you can also have an advanced search that has a more complex form that can search multiple fields. If you wish to simplify the viewer's interface you might consider making the time/date added and username optional to results. Also a zip code search would help people find signs in their area. I will look into providing you with a mysql dump file for US zipcodes (a little old) if I can find where it is in my backups. it was harvested from US census data and is copyright free to my knowledge. I am willing to assist in any php/sql coding that my suggestions bring up and/or those of others if needed.

Its a great idea, and I am willing to assist in furthering it. I would submit some entries but have not encountered any 30.06 signs in my usual haunts. From the future CHL holder POV its a great idea (I have payed the state and started the process online but have yet to take the class and finish the process, but that is scheduled to start next month).
